Carl Longworth

Carl Longworth is a British sculptor who approaches traditional subjects from an innovative angle. His imaginative treatment of natural history subjects is shown through creative lines and distinctive patination. While modern in approach, he has moved away from his early figurative work towards devoting his enthusiasm for wildlife studies. He approaches each natural subject with the same attention to muscle tones, posture and expression, as befits a figurative artist.

The personality and vivacity of each of Carl's subjects can be felt in their unique expressions, every one demanding a response from the viewer as if one had come across these tame creatures in a woodland glade. His pieces show the merits of an incredibly skilled sculptor dedicated not only to capturing the animation of his subject but delivering a perfect finish, and this is rapidly making him one of the most sought-after artists of his generation.
